Blue Ridge Respite is excited to host three special sessions of the Movement For Parkinson’s Program, led by the Charlottesville Ballet. These welcoming, community-based classes are designed to support individuals living with Parkinson’s disease through gentle, guided movement that promotes balance, flexibility, coordination, and overall well-being.
Program Dates: May 4, 11, & 18 | 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
The program is open to people of all ages, with or without a formal Parkinson’s diagnosis, as well as caregivers and loved ones. No dance experience is needed, and participants are encouraged to join at any time. Each session offers a supportive and engaging environment where movement is adapted to meet a variety of abilities.
In addition to benefiting those with Parkinson’s, this program can also be especially meaningful for individuals with mild to moderate dementia. Movement-based activities like these can help improve mood, encourage social connection, and support cognitive engagement in a low-pressure, joyful setting.
This event is free and open to the public—you do not need to be a current Blue Ridge Respite participant to attend. Please contact ktokar@charlottesvilleballet.org with any questions!
