• 'Give us a little bit of peace of mind': Mom pleas for person who killed son to turn themselves in (wavy.com) — A young man was fatally shot while riding with a dirt bike group near Berkley field in Norfolk, and his family is pleading for the shooter to surrender. Norfolk Police have released few details, but relatives say the suspect drove a black Dodge Charger and that friends rushed the victim to medical care. The family is asking anyone involved to come forward to prevent further harm.
• PHX Suns Center Mark Williams returns home for youth basketball camp (wavy.com) — Young basketball players in Norfolk just got court time with Phoenix Suns center and Norfolk Academy alum Mark Williams, who returned home Saturday for his second annual co-ed camp. Kids from across the 757 learned skills, heard about his NBA journey, and saw firsthand how his new three-year, $38 million contract reflects hard work that began locally.
• USS Gettysburg sailors visit Gettysburg to honor those who served before them (witf.org) — Sailors stationed on the Norfolk-based USS Gettysburg spent several days in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, restoring veterans' graves and connecting with local veterans. The crew reflected on the Civil War battle's symbolism, which is woven into their ship's identity and even their ball caps. Their visit highlights how Norfolk sailors honor military history while serving today's Navy.
