Starting as early as Friday, PreCheck-approved visitors can register online to access the concourse for dining, shopping, or gate goodbyes at Norfolk and Newport News airports, without needing an airline ticket.
3. Carnival Sunshine Departs Norfolk a Day Late: Bimini Canceled, One Night Refunded (travelerstoday.com) — If you're sailing Carnival Sunshine from Norfolk, your Bahamas cruise leaves today, one day late, and has been shortened by a night with Bimini dropped from the itinerary. Guests keep Nassau and Celebration Key stops, receive prorated refunds for fares, packages, and gratuities, but must handle any independently booked excursions themselves.
4. A dog's life: from the shelter to 2026 Hero Pet of the Year (militaryfamilies.com) — A Norfolk pit bull named Juju has been named Dogs on Deployment's 2026 American Hero Pet of the Year after helping protect his military family and inspiring wider awareness of pet boarding support for service members.
