VIRGINIA — The warmer season is starting to bring plentiful events to the weekend around Northern Virginia and D.C.
This weekend is packed with major events around the region, from food festivals to Pride and cultural celebrations. If you're looking for food and drinks, check out events like the Mount Vernon Spring Wine Festival in Mount Vernon, International Food Festival in Manassas, Lincoln Strawberry Festival in Hamilton, LoCo Food Truck Festival in Leesburg and Tacos and Tequila at Nationals Park in D.C.
You don't have to wait until June's Pride Months for LGBTQ+ celebrations. This weekend marks the start of WorldPride, which will bring numerous events and visitors to D.C. Another major event is the Equality Prince William Pride Festival in Manassas.
Other notable events this weekend are Old Town Festival of Speed and Style in Alexandria, Marine Corps Historic Half in Fredericksburg, Tavern Square Art Fair in Alexandria, Loudoun Spring Farm Tour in Loudoun County, Arlington Palooza in Arlington, Fiesta Asia in D.C., Asian Festival On Main in Fairfax, McLean Day in McLean and Well Ray in Alexandria.
Be sure to check the weather forecast if you will be spending time outdoors. The National Weather Service said Friday brings chances of showers and thunderstorms into the evening and night in D.C. There's another chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 p.m., some of which will be severe. Conditions could then clear up for the many outdoor festivals. The greatest chance of consistent sunny conditions will be Sunday.
