Four Arrested In Connection With Alexandria Narcotics Hub: Police

Four people are charged with distributing narcotics out of a Mount Vernon hotel.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Fairfax County police announced Monday that they arrested four people they say were part of a narcotics distribution ring earlier this month.

The Fairfax County Police Department says officers from the Mount Vernon Neighborhood Patrol Unit arrested the four people after executing a search warrant at the Red Carpet Inn on 8257 Richmond Highway April 17, concluding a three-month investigation.

Elizabeth Pierce, 66, of Alexandria; Taevon Moore, 33, of Washington, D.C.; Shawn Banks, 36, of Alexandria; and Jose Gomez, 28, of Alexandria are all accused of using multiple rooms of the motel to distribute narcotics. All four were taken into custody.

Officers say they found an illegal firearm belonging to Moore, as well as 23 grams of suspected cocaine, 2 grams of fentanyl, 40 Xanax bars, and approximately $1,500 in cash.

Pierce was charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and maintaining a nuisance house. She was released on $2,000 bond.

Moore was charged with possessing a firearm as a felon, possession with intent to distribute scheduled substances while possessing a firearm, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and manufacturing scheduled substances. He is being held without bond.

Banks was charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession of crack cocaine and distribution of controlled paraphernalia. He was released on a $1,000 bond.

Gomez was served a probation violation warrant and was released on an unsecured bond.
