ALEXANDRIA, VA – Crouching oyster, hidden noodle!
Hank’s Pasta Bar, Old Town’s restaurant within a restaurant (within the award-winning Hank's Oyster Bar, to be exact), will officially open for dine-in service Thursday, May 7.
Until recently, visitors had to take their sneaky noodles to go. Now, Hank’s Pasta Bar is entering its restaurant era with a full bar including Italian wines and cocktails, in addition to their build-your-own pasta bowls and signature dishes.
The chefs behind the concept are Jamie Leeds of Hank’s Oyster Bar and Darren Norris of Shibuya. Hank’s Pasta Bar is intended as a bridge between full-service dining and elevated fast casual, the restaurant explained in a release. Diners still order electronically at the table, but food and drink is served on plateware and waitstaff are on hand.
Don't worry, you can still get your gemelli to go. “This is about giving people options,” Leeds said in a release. “You can sit down and stay awhile or grab something great and go. Either way, it’s thoughtful food, made to feel easy.”
The new hidden trattoria will open for full service May 7, but its grand opening will come the following week. The first 50 dine-in guests between May 14 to May 17 will get a free glass of prosecco or a non-alcoholic sparkling alternative.
Check out their menu here or visit them at 600 Montgomery Street.
