Pedestrian Killed In Old Town Last Month Was Following Pedestrian Crossing Signal: Report

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The woman who was killed in an Alexandria intersection last month was on a marked crosswalk that was being indicated as safe by the pedestrian crossing signaller, according to a new report.

ALX Now, citing a search warrant affidavit, reports that 62-year-old Norma Floyd-Sayles was crossing the intersection of St. Asaph and Montgomery Streets with an active pedestrian crossing countdown when she was struck and killed.

The 46-year-old man driving the Chevrolet Suburban that struck her stopped and called emergency services. The incident is still under investigation and he has not been charged.
