VIRGINIA— Hot, stormy weather will close out the last full week of June, as a cold front moves into Northern Virginia this weekend.
While Friday starts with partly sunny conditions and temperatures reaching 90, the day shifts to more gloomy weather with rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Isolated showers are expected to start around 2 p.m., with thunderstorms potentially developing after 3 p.m. through the afternoon and potentially impacting the evening commute.

The slow-moving cold front is likely to continue churning up thunderstorms from around midnight Friday and all day Saturday, according to the NWS. Patchy fog is possible throughout the day.
The latest data released by the National Weather Service suggests there's an 80 percent chance of rainfall.
