ALEXANDRIA, VA – A new wine and sandwich shop is days away from opening at the Bradlee Shopping Center.
Chord Bread and Bottle will hold its soft opening on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m., timed for the end of the World Cup final. They’re offering free wine tastings and a first bite of their house-made charcuterie and artisan sandwiches.
Chord Bread and Bottle is a combination gourmet sandwich cafe and retail wine shop, plus some elevated everyday essentials, its website explains. They promise an eclectic selection of American and international wines, local craft beers and a menu rounded out with salads and charcuterie. They also offer catering services and are launching a wine club.
The new venture comes from Alexandria restaurateur Scott Shirley, who also owns Chord's sister concept, Slater’s Market on Potomac Greens Drive, and the Union Sandwich Company on Union Street.
To check out Chord Bread and Bottle, visit 3690-J King Street, between the Starbucks and the Alexandria Pastry Shop in the Bradlee Shopping Center.
