ALEXANDRIA, VA – Four Mile Run's floating kayak launch was swept from its moorings on Sunday afternoon after a weekend of heavy rain, according to a new report.
ALX Now reports that the floating kayak launch, which is less than a year old, washed away on Sunday after a stabilizing cable snapped under pressure from floating debris. The launch came to a rest under the Route 1 bridge.
The Four Mile Run Conservancy Foundation and city park staff say the launch will be repaired and reinstalled.
