Registration Open For Alexandria Children's Chorus Fall Season

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Registration for the Alexandria Children's Chorus is open, with rehearsals beginning Sept. 1 and the chorus' first concert set for Oct. 3.

The community chorus is open to children from kindergarten through sixth grade, with no auditions or choral experience required. The chorus's website says it provides the opportunity for children "to experience the joy of singing in a non-competitive environment, develop and strengthen fundamental musicianship skills, and enrich the community around them." Performance pieces are selected from American and international folk music as well as the classical repertoire. Recent past performances have included "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and "Lean on Me."

The fall season will run through December 19.

Families can attend two rehearsals for free to decide if they want to join. More information can be found here.

The Alexandria Children's Chorus was founded in 2015 as the Del Ray Kinderchoir. Now, it partners with the Capital Force Youth Chorus for kids from seventh to 12th grade to help children of all ages find a place to sing.
