'Silver Linings Playbook' Author To Discuss New Memoir In Alexandria This Fall

Matthew Quick will discuss his first work of nonfiction at an event in Alexandria this September.

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The bestselling author of "The Silver Linings Playbook" will give a talk and sign copies of his new book at an event in Alexandria later in September.

Matthew Quick, author of the 2008 novel that was adapted into an award-winning movie, will discuss his new book, "Dad, Love, Me: A Memoir," at the Alexandria History Museum on Sept. 26.

The memoir is Quick's first nonfiction work and reflects on his relationship with his father, his father's dementia and familial memory and forgiveness. It was named a New York Times Book Review Editor's Choice. Quick's nine novels have earned him multiple mentions on national and international prizes and bestseller lists.

The event is organized in partnership with the Alexandria Book Festival and Old Town Books. It will be held at the Alexandria History Museum at the Lyceum, 201 S Washington St., from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Attendance is free, but guests must register here.
