ALEXANDRIA, VA – A teenager has been charged in connection with a double shooting on Tuesday in Hybla Valley, Fairfax police announced.
A 16-year-old boy has been charged with willfully discharging a firearm in a public place following a shooting on the 7700 block of Richmond Highway that injured two men, the Fairfax Police Department announced Friday.
On Tuesday afternoon, Fairfax police responding to reports of a shooting found one adult man with a gunshot wound to the upper body and another nearby with a wound to his lower body. Both were taken to a hospital in conditions not considered life-threatening.
Fairfax investigators say they believe the victims and suspect knew each other and were involved in an argument when the shooting occurred.
The 16-year-old was identified as the suspect, and the boy turned himself in to the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center Thursday. Fairfax police say he is being held there.
