ALEXANDRIA, VA – Carr Properties has acquired a 2-acre commercial site at 300 Montgomery St. in Old Town Alexandria and plans to redevelop it with a 373-unit apartment community, the developer said in a release.
The company announced the acquisition Oct. 23. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2028, with completion targeted for spring 2030.
The site is directly across from Margot, Carr's new 237-unit apartment community at 425 Montgomery St. Together, the two developments would add 610 residences to the area.
Plans for 300 Montgomery include a rooftop pool and an amenity lounge with views of the Potomac River. Carr said additional details on the design and residences will be released as planning advances.
The project is part of Carr's broader residential expansion in the Washington region. The company is also developing projects in Clarendon, Ballston and Washington, D.C.
