Alexandria Crash a Result of Driver Running Red Light
BREAKING: A 79-year old man is dead after running a red light and crashing into another car in Alexandria.

(Updated 2:50 p.m. Tuesday) ALEXANDRIA, VA -- A crash crash late Monday night in Alexandria has left one dead and two injured, police say. A 79-year-old Fairfax man had run a red traffic light and struck a vehicle in the intersection of Duke Street and North Quaker Lane around 10:45 p.m.
The man died from injuries on the scene. The two individuals in the other car were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police have not released the identity of the deceased or injured.

The accident is under investigation in Alexandria Police's Criminal Investigations Section and Crash Reconstruction Team. Police ask individuals that witnessed or have information about the accident contact Detective Loren King at 703-746-6689.
