• Orange County BOS PH – Rt 3 Carwash & Gordonsville Auto Repair Shop (pjrnews.com) — Orange County supervisors will hold public hearings on September 8 in Orange to consider a new automatic carwash on Route 3 in Locust Grove and an auto repair garage on Spotswood Trail near Gordonsville. Residents can review the applications at county offices on West Main Street in Orange or online and are invited to speak at the 5 p.m. meeting.
   

• RSA approves 3 Madison projects topping $1M (pjrnews.com) — Rapidan Service Authority has approved over $1 million in Madison County water and sewer projects that also matter to Orange County residents the authority serves. Work will replace aging lines, boost plant capacity, and improve planning, while a recent Lake of the Woods water main break and boil advisory prompted a review of how quickly customers in that Orange community are notified.
   

• Former James Madison players say Bob Chesney inspired their challenging moves to UCLA (latimes.com subscription) — A UCLA football feature spotlights wide receiver Landon Ellis, who grew up in Orange and is now adapting to life 2,500 miles away in Los Angeles. Ellis and other former James Madison players describe how coach Bob Chesney's leadership and familiar staff helped them leave home, chase Big Ten opportunities, and adjust from small-town roots to a massive new stage.
