• Radford Highlanders Festival brings Highland Games, music and Celtic traditions to campus Oct. 10 (pcpatriot.com) — Radford residents can enjoy the free Radford Highlanders Festival this Saturday, Oct. 10, on Radford University's Moffett Lawn, featuring Highland Games, Celtic music, and family activities. The long-running event, co-hosted with the City of Radford, now draws about 10,000 visitors and runs from 9 a.m. with games, sheepherding demos, and a noon opening ceremony.
• ReNew the New Holds Another Successful Cleanup (nrvnews.com) — Volunteers from Radford, Giles, and Montgomery counties recently joined the ReNew the New cleanup, hauling 165 bags of trash and more than 110 tires from the New River. With strong participation from Radford University groups and city volunteers, the effort removed hundreds of pounds of debris and highlighted ongoing work to protect the local watershed.
• Virginia Gas Prices: Cheapest and most expensive places to fill up - Oct. 5, 2026 (wsls.com) — Drivers in Radford are paying about $4.12 per gallon for regular gas, matching prices in Blacksburg and Christiansburg as statewide averages hover just above $4. The report also notes diesel and premium prices, giving New River Valley residents a snapshot of what to expect at the pump this week.
