2 Dogs Die in Reston Townhouse Blaze
The townhouse didn't have working smoke alarms, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.
Two dogs are dead after a fire broke out in a townhouse that didn't have working smoke alarms.
Firefighters responded to reports of a fire in the 11200 block of Silentwood Lane at around 9:44 p.m. on July 29. They found a townhouse on fire and conducted an "aggressive attack" to bring the fire under control, according to a report from Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.
The house didn't have working smoke alarms -- it was a neighbor who discovered the fire and reported it. Fortunately, the two adults who lived there weren't at home at the time, and there were no injuries to the firefighters, but two dogs who remained inside died in the fire.
