2 Gas Stations Robbed At Gunpoint In Reston, Herndon: Police

In both cases, a black man in dark clothing showed a gun and demanded money, police say.

RESTON/HERNDON, VA -- Police say two gas stations were robbed in Reston and Herndon over the weekend, and the descriptions of the suspect in both cases are very similar.

The first report came in at around 10:20 p.m. on Monday when a suspect "described as a black man, dressed in all dark clothing" entered the Shell gas station at 12219 Leesburg Pike in Herndon and demanded money, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.

"The suspect displayed a handgun, however, no one was injured," the report adds.

Just 45 minutes later, a suspect with the same description entered the Sunoco gas station at 1496 North Point Village Center in Reston and demanded money, police say.

"The suspect displayed a handgun, however, no one was injured," the report states. "An undetermined amount of cash and other property was taken from the business."
