2 Men Rob Taxi Driver, Flee Toward Wiehle Avenue

Police say the men implied they had a weapon and demanded cash during an early morning cab ride.

Two men robbed a taxi driver in Reston after threatening him and implying they had a weapon.

Police said the driver was in the 11300 block of Baron Cameron Avenue at around 4:20 am. June 24 when the men in his cab "implied that they had a weapon, threatened the driver and demanded money," according to the police report.

The driver handed over an undisclosed amount of cash. He was not injured.

The men fled on foot in the direction of Wiehle Avenue.

"One suspect was described as black, very tall," the statement adds. "He was wearing a multi-colored shirt and jeans. The second suspect was described as Hispanic, 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was wearing an orange shirt, jeans and a baseball cap."
