7-Eleven Robbed At Gunpoint Near Reston Hospital: Police

HERNDON, VA -- A man armed with a gun entered a 7-Eleven near Reston Hospital Center early Monday morning and was able to escape with cash, police say.

The robbery happened at 2:35 a.m. at the 7-Eleven located at 160 Elden Street in Herndon, just around the corner from the hospital. The man walked into the store, displayed a handgun, and instructed the employee to open the register and give him cash, according to a report from the Herndon Police Department.

The suspect managed to escape with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police did not give a description.

The case is under investigation.
