Alamo Drafthouse Announces Plans to Show 'The Interview' Christmas Day
The theater announced Tuesday plans to show "The Interview" following hacker threats against theaters that choose to screen the film.

The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Ashburn announced Tuesday plans to screen “The Interview” starting Christmas Day.
The theater, located at 20575 Easthampton Plaza, is one of just a handful in the nation with plans to show the film.

Sony Pictures axed the movie’s theatrical release Dec. 17 following hacker threats of violence against theaters showing the film.
On Nov. 24, Sony Pictures fell victim to a group of hackers calling themselves “ Guardians of Peace” that destroyed the company’s computer systems and stole large amounts of personal and commercial data, the FBI reports. The hacking escalated to threats to attack theaters showing the film, which depicts the assassination of North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un. On Friday, the FBI officially attributed the cyber attacks to the North Korean government.
