Alcorn Hosts Virtual Town Hall On Proposed FY 2021 Budget
Hunter Mill residents can provide feedback on the Fiscal Year 2021 Budget Proposal Friday during a virtual town hall.

RESTON,VA — Hunter Mill Supervisor Walter Alcorn is hosting a virtual budget town hall Friday, April 24, at 12:30 p.m., to discuss the revised Fiscal Year 2021 Proposed Budget County Executive Bryan Hill submitted to the Board of Supervisors on April 7.
Hill resubmitted his budget to take into account the impact the coronavirus pandemic has had on the county's spending and will continue to have once the pandemic is over. Gone is the 3-cent increase to the Real Estate Tax rate, which would've raised the average household tax bill by $346 next year. Hill also eliminated the 4 percent Admissions Tax on the sale of movie, theater and concert tickets he had proposed back in February.
"This budget is essentially a continuation of tax rates and spending levels from the current fiscal year, and because it does not take into account inflation or growth in school population or demand for services, the effect is similar to an across-the-board reduction," Alcorn said, in the latest Hunter Mill newsletter.
