RICHMOND, VA — Giraffe calves connected to the Natural Bridge Zoo that went missing in 2025 have been safely located and placed with a professional facility specializing in giraffe care, the Virginia Attorney General’s Office announced.
The safe return follows legal action and an extensive investigation by the Attorney General’s Office, officials said. The calves are now safe and receiving proper medical and behavioral support.
“This outcome reflects the Attorney General’s commitment to ensuring public safety, protecting our communities, and accountability for those who break the law,” the office said in a news release.
Officials said no additional details can be released because of an ongoing criminal investigation.
The Attorney General’s Office thanked the public for its support throughout the investigation and asked anyone with information about the illegal movement of the giraffes to contact the office at 804-786-2071.
