FAIRFAX, VA — ArtsFairfax has appointed three new members to its Board of Directors and announced its executive committee for fiscal year 2027, with the new terms taking effect July 1.
The Fairfax County nonprofit said attorneys, business leaders and arts advocates Samuel M. Adelmann, Roya Khosrowshahi Chadab and Tim Rizer have joined the board as it begins its 2027 fiscal year, which runs through June 30, 2027.
"The board and staff join me in welcoming Samuel, Roya, and Tim to the ArtsFairfax Board," Board Chairman Michael Liberman said in a statement. "In addition to their professional careers, all three have long supported the arts in their personal lives, and we are thrilled that they share in our enthusiastic support to advance the cultural life of Fairfax County."
Adelmann is a senior attorney with McGuireWoods in Tysons who has practiced law for nearly 15 years. Chadab serves as art director for the Iranian American Community Center at Pars Place, where she oversees exhibitions and cultural programming. Rizer is president of Item Inc. and managing member of G&G LLC. He also is a longtime supporter of the Workhouse Arts Center and other Fairfax County civic organizations.
ArtsFairfax also announced its executive committee for FY27. Liberman will continue as board chairman. Lori Brown-Simmons, executive director of Fractional Firm Advisors, will serve as vice chair; Dr. Maurice "Mo" Springer, president and CEO of Carinal Insurance & Financial Inc., will serve as secretary; and Amy Ginn, a director at PBMares, will serve as treasurer.
ArtsFairfax said its board oversees a staff of 10 that supports the local arts community through grant funding, workforce development and creative placemaking initiatives. The organization said it invests about $820,000 annually in grants for arts programming and nonprofit organizations serving Fairfax County, the City of Fairfax and the City of Falls Church. It also provides professional development resources and manages public art initiatives, including an online public art locator.
ArtsFairfax, founded in 1964, serves as Fairfax County's designated local arts agency. The nonprofit supports arts organizations and artists through funding, advocacy and professional development and receives support from Fairfax County, the Virginia Commission for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts and private donors.
