4. Renovations begin this fall at seven Fairfax County playgrounds (ffxnow.com) — Reston families can now enjoy an upgraded, more accessible Reston North playground on Stevenage Road, where renovations finished this summer with new, safer equipment. The county is also launching fresh playground projects elsewhere this fall and asking voters to approve new park bonds, which could fund future improvements to facilities across Fairfax County.
5. The Most Anticipated Restaurant Openings Around D.C. This Fall 2026 (eater.com) — Reston diners can look forward to Ebbitt House opening at Reston Station this October, bringing Old Ebbitt Grill's famous raw bar, martinis, and American classics to a large dining room and patio. Led by veterans of the former Clyde's of Reston, the new spot is among several high-profile D.C.-area restaurant debuts, but stands out as a major new neighborhood gathering place.
