Maximus Foundation Awards More Than $2 Million

The Cornerstones grant is part of more than $2 million the Maximus Foundation awarded to nonprofit organizations across the country this year.

Ten organizations received three-year Impact Grants of $150,000 each to expand their programs, primarily addressing hunger and food insecurity. Another 52 nonprofits are receiving $10,000 Community Choice grants for work involving issues such as health care access, veterans' well-being and homelessness.

"Our Maximus colleagues and partners are closest to the needs of communities, and it is a privilege to follow their lead," Dr. Arvenita Washington Cherry, president and chairperson of the Maximus Foundation, said in a statement. "As we continue to focus our Impact Grants on food access and our Community Choice Grants across 11 impact themes, I'm encouraged by the trust our grantees have earned in their communities and confident in the lasting change they will help create."

The foundation said Maximus employees help determine where the money goes by nominating organizations, voting on finalists and contributing alongside the company.

Since its founding in 2000, the Maximus Foundation has awarded more than 3,200 grants totaling $20 million to nonprofits nationwide. Recipients of the foundation's 2025 Impact Grants will also continue receiving funding this year as part of their three-year awards.
