Another Creepy Burglar Strikes In Reston
Once again, a Reston homeowner has awoken to a strange person standing in their house in the middle of the night.

RESTON, VA -- Once again, a homeowner has been startled by the presence of a strange man inside the house in the middle of the night, police say.
Police were called to the 1800 block of Wainwright Drive at around 3 a.m. on Nov. 30 after the victim "woke up to a man standing in his bedroom," according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.
"He confronted the man and the suspect left the house on foot," the report states. "The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic man between 40 to 50 years old. He was between 5’8 and 5’10 and weighed around 200 pounds. He was wearing dark clothing."

Police discovered that electronics and banking information had been stolen from the house.
Earlier this month, Fairfax County Police warned residents in the Reston area that a burglar may have broken into four homes in the middle of the night over a two-day period.

The first two were reported in the Fair Oaks District nearby. The second two incidents were in the Reston District.
"This morning's cases in the Reston District were also close to one another – one in the 12100 block of Abington Hall Place around 2 a.m., and the other in the 12000 block of Edgemere Circle shortly before 3 a.m.," the report states. "In the first incident, a woman heard sounds from the kitchen area of her home and went to investigate. She saw a man standing in the kitchen. He ran off when confronted. The victim's purse and wallet were taken.
"In the second incident, a resident was awakened by his pets," the report continues. "He saw a man standing in the home attempting to steal items. When confronted, the suspect dropped most of the items and left with the victim's wallet. The wallet was later found by someone in the neighborhood and turned into police. An investigation determined garage openers were also missing from these victims' unlocked cars. No injuries were reported in either case."
Police described the man in the string of burglaries earlier this month as "a black man in his late teens to early 20s and around 6 feet tall ... slender and possibly weighing between 175 and 200 pounds." That differs significantly from the description of the suspect in Thursday's incident, so the cases may not be connected.
