Arriving Soon: Brews with Views at Lake Anne Brew House
Couple is aiming for a late summer opening.

Restonians Melissa and Jason Romano have purchased retail space at Historic Lake Anne Plaza (11424 Washington Plaza) and plan to open a “nano brewery” called Lake Anne Brew House.
Jason, a government contractor by day, has been a home brewer for years and is a member of the American Homebrewers Association.

The space was previously occupied by Singh Thai restaurant, which recently moved to a larger location on the Plaza. The space will feature a bar and seating areas that include seating on the deck overlooking Lake Anne. The space will also serve light snacks, similar to a wine tasting room. The Lake Anne Brewhouse is scheduled to open late summer.
Here’s more about the new business that’s brewing as well as information about the Romanos, from their new Lake Anne Brew House Facebook page:

“We are husband and wife team, Jason and Melissa Romano--long time Lake Anne residents and parents to three cool kids who attend Lake Anne and Forest Edge ES, spend most of the summer swimming in the lake, and keep us pretty busy. Melissa is an Architect, and Jason is a government contractor, long time home brewer, and BJCP certified Beer Judge. Our love of craft beer is huge, as is our love of Lake Anne and Reston, which ultimately lead us to this mission: To create a community-focused taproom, brewing small-batch, hand-crafted beer, and to serve it up lakeside on our amazing deck and patio overlooking beautiful Lake Anne. Brews with views… what more could you ask for?
Our community-focused brewery will embrace the ‘Live-Work-Play’ philosophy that Robert E. Simon built this place to be, and we will strive to uphold his ideals in all that we do as a business. We are building this for all of you, for our community, and for the greater community of craft beer drinkers.
Today we fielded phone calls from people asking what time we open, asking for jobs, and just calling to say “congrats.” We had folks knocking on the door and asking if they could come in. We are overwhelmed by your enthusiasm and thank you all for your support, but first...
Building a brewery is hard work. We have spent months, even years, dreaming, planning and working on this idea, but we only just received our keys yesterday. We have several months of renovations and build-out ahead of us, equipment to install, and beer to brew. We are targeting a late-summer opening, and we promise we’ll move as quickly as we can to get our doors open and our taps flowing. We look forward to serving you, and to seeing you in the LAKE ANNE BREW HOUSE taproom very soon.
Cheers,
Melissa and Jason”
