Body Found In Reston Lake: Police

Police believe the man was competing in a swim race at Lake Audubon when he drowned.

RESTON, VA -- A Falls Church man has apparently drowned while competing in a swim race at Lake Audubon in Reston over the weekend, police say.

A family member became concerned about 45-year-old Kevin Ruby after not hearing from him for more than an hour on Sunday, and officers discovered that he had never reported in at the conclusion of the race, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.

The lake was searched through the night, but without success. Authorities resumed searching on Monday, and found Ruby's body at around 12:45 p.m. thanks to the efforts of the Marine Patrol, Fire Department Search and Rescue, and Underwater Search and Recovery Team.
