Police say the body was found in a neighborhood near Lake Newport.

RESTON, VA -- A body has been found in Reston Friday morning, and police are investigating.

Fairfax County Police tweeted at 8:43 a.m. that a body had been discovered in the 1500 block of Browns Chapel Road, which is near Lake Newport.
Detectives are currently at the scene.

"Preliminarily, we do not believe there to be a threat to public safety," police said.
