Dr. Wiehle and His Town
Join the Reston Historic Trust for a special history program.
Something remarkable and significant happened in our area before the turn of the 20th century. Did you know that a utopian town was planned and partially established in Reston 60 years before Robert E. Simon, Jr. came to Northern Virginia?
As part of its continuing program of examining the history of the area, the Reston Historic Trust is conducting a special program on Thursday, March 22, 7-9 p.m. at the The program is on the history of Dr. Max Wiehle and the town he attempted to establish before the land became Reston.
Evidence of the town of Wiehle is still in the heart of Reston, including Dr. Wiehle’s mansion, the Wiehle Town Hall, and the Robert Wiehle house.
