Pay Equity - it starts with your first job!

Equal Pay Day marks the day in 2013 that women will have to work, to in order to make as much as their male counterpart made in 2012.

 Equal Pay Day is April 9, 2013.  For women right out of college, the wage gap starts at the first paycheck and gets worse as women advance in their career.  According to one estimate, college-educated women working full time earn more than half a million dollars less than their male peers do over the course of a lifetime.  The gap is even larger for women of color.

This is an issue AAUW has advocated for since the late 1800s/early 1900s.
