Take Part In Reston Plant Swap April 28

Reston Patch is hosting a Plant Swap at the Hunters Woods Pool parking lot on April 28! See you there!

I want to announce that I will be hosting a Reston Patch Plant Swap in the Hunters Woods Pool Parking Lot on Sunday April 28 from 12 - 2:00. This will be mainly for landscape plants but also perennials, bulbs, succulents, ornamental grasses, vegetable seedlings, herbs and anything that is growing out of its space in your yard! You can also bring tools or other supplies you don’t use or want any longer.

Here are the very general rules for this Plant Swap:

There will be a "main swapping" area with stations where people can bring their plants. All plants should be labeled with the common name and, if known, the botanical name. They will be placed in the appropriate category: perennials will be divided in sun/shade, then annuals, veggies, herbs, grass, shrub or other. You can also bring tools and garden supplies you no longer use. I will have 3x5 cards and markers to identify the plants.

People will announce what they brought and in what conditions the plants grow best. We will then allow everyone who brought plants to take one plant at a time, initially. After two choice picks, we will allow anyone who brought to take whatever they want!

The "I have nothing to offer" folks are welcome to take anything at the end of the swap. In addition, anyone can take extra plants at the end of the swap.
