Things are Popping this Spring!
What have you noticed in your yard and on walks this week? Here are some pictures that I have noted.
Not sure if you have noticed, but there are a lot of things happening out in nature this week! Take a look at my pictures here to see what I have been seeing ~ what have you taken note of this week?
Have you noticed the clusters for purple flowers in the turf in your yard? Ajuga.
Have you noticed buttercups around too? Lovely.

I have noticed that one person's weeds can definitely be another's native plantings!
Have you seen lots of maple leaf clusters on the road and paths? The only think I can figure is that it is probably squirrels chewing them for their nests. They are obviously easy to chew through, but the squirrels can't seem to hold on to them very well!

One thing I did notice is that the conifers are getting ready to pop their pollen! Get ready for the heavy, yellow stuff to descend upon us! I am super happy that I do not get congested with all of the oak pollen! Makes my gardening much better.
If only the poison ivy was not so prevelant in the soil at my house! We had a significant amount of English Ivy pulled in our front yard. There was no visible poison ivy but, how quickly I have forgotten that the toxins stay in the soil!! UGH! I think I will need a prednisone drip for the next few months!!
Oh, and the plant exchange went pretty well! We were done in one hour, so I have some revisions to make for the next one! Look for notes coming in the fall.
Time to get ready for the Cicadas, Brood II!
