Call to Young Artists: Children's Art Show to Feature Reston's New Official Bird
Children of all ages are welcome to submit a work of art depicting the Pileated Woodpecker. Details below.

Friends of Reston will host a Children’s Art Show at the Walker Nature Center in celebration of the new official bird of Reston, the Pileated Woodpecker, according to the Reston Association.

Deadline for art submissions is Saturday, Jan. 31, at 1 p.m. All art will be displayed inside the Walker Nature Center’s Nature House on Feb. 1-7 and posted on its Facebook page.

Children of all ages can submit drawings and paintings in pencil, crayon, watercolor or other media. Please use paper no larger than 9” x 12” and be sure to include your name and age on the paper.
Art submissions can be mailed to Walker Nature Center, 11450 Glade Drive, Reston, 20191, or delivered during the open hours of Monday and Wednesday-Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Sunday 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
