ChalkFest Bringing Unique Art to Reston Town Center
The two-day event will take place on Sept. 11-12 and will include prizes for both professional and amateur artists.

Reston Town Center is getting a brand new look this September when ChalkFest takes over the area.
Sponsored by the Town Center and the Initiative for Public Art — Reston (IPAR), the two-day event will run from Sept. 11-12, and will allow both professional and amateur artists of all ages to create their best chalk art throughout the Town Center, with a number of prizes at stake.
Festivities begin at noon on Friday, Sept. 11, with the professional artists division as well as the team-building division. Artists in those two categories will have from noon until 11 p.m. to create their artwork in 4-by-8-foot spaces, and they’ll also be granted time to work from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12.

The team-building division is geared toward companies or other organizations hoping to develop unity and communication skills amongst its members.
Also spanning from 8-4:30 on the 12th are the amateur and family divisions, for which each entrant has a 4-by-4-foot space to work. There will be prizes awarded to the winners of each division.
