Cold Temperatures: Fairfax County, Falls Church Hypothermia Program

See someone who needs help in the cold weather? Here's what you can do in Fairfax County and Falls Church.

The National Weather Service is calling for low temperatures in Fairfax County through the next several days, and strong winds will make it feel even colder. Fairfax-Falls Church emergency hypothermia shelters operate with a “no turn-away” policy during freezing temperatures from November through March every year.

If you see someone at night who is unsheltered and you think could be at risk of hypothermia, call the county’s non-emergency phone line at 703-691-2131, or TTY 711. For further information on the Hypothermia Prevention Program, please contact Debbie Scaggs at debbie.scaggs@fairfaxcounty.gov or(571) 722-8952.
