Come to a Memory Cafe
A place where those with Alzheimer's disease or a memory impairment and their caregivers can find support, resources, and companionship.
Alzheimer’s can be a difficult journey, and it’s best not to face it alone! Caregivers need the fellowship and support of others who are facing similar issues, and those with the diagnosis need friendship and the opportunity to talk with those in the same situation.
A memory café provides a safe, comfortable, and engaging environment for both the caregiver and the care receiver. Schedules vary, but memory cafés typically meet once or twice a month for about two hours. Attendees can participate in a variety of activities, including conversations on various topics, simple games and puzzles, and active games such as indoor bowling or bocce. Music is also often incorporated through entertainers or sing-a-longs. Additionally, caregivers can learn more about resources in the community, and care receivers find friends and fun.
Traveling with your loved one on the Alzheimer’s journey is difficult. Sharing the journey with others can make it easier.
