Coming Soon To Reston Town Center: Athleta

will soon be home to an Athleta store.

The women's activewear company, owned by the Gap, has been a popular catalogue shop, but in the last year has expanded into retail operations with stores in New York, California, Minnesota and in D.C.'s Georgetown.

The store specializes in gear for running, yoga, tennis, climbing and other active pursuits. Stores also offer special events such as free fitness classes and demonstrations.

The store, Athleta's first in Virginia though another is planned for Tysons Corner, will be located in the space left vacant when moved to Library Street last month. Construction on the store, located between and will begin within the nest few weeks, Reston Town Center officials said.

No firm opening date has been set.
