Identity Of Two Suspects In Herndon Shooting Sought; Composite Sketch Released By Police
Fairfax County Police released a composite sketch on Tuesday of one of the suspects wanted in the June 18 shooting in Herndon.

RESTON, VA — Fairfax County Police released a sketch on Tuesday of one of the suspects wanted in connection with an early morning shooting on June 18 in the Reston District.
Police responded around 4:09 a.m., for the report of a shot person in the 2500 block of Cornelia Road in the Herndon area of the county. Officers found an adult man in a parking lot suffering from multiple gun shots to the upper body. Police provided aid until fire and rescue personnel arrived on the scene. The victim was then transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Multiple witnesses told detectives that they'd heard gunfire and saw a white SUV fleeing scene, according to police.

Based on a preliminary investigation and witness statements, detectives determined that the victim was shot after he confronted two suspects trying to break into the victim's Dodge Charger.
Police are asking the public's help in identifying the suspect in the composite sketch and the second suspect, whom they described as a heavy-set white man in his early 20s, with brown and medium-length hair and standing 5-foot-10.

FCPD's sketch artist was able to create a detailed composite of the first suspect based on witness statements but did not have enough identifying information about the other suspect to create a detailed sketch, according to a department spokeswoman. This is why only one sketch was released.
