Controversial Reston Zoning Proposal Will Be Discussed Next Month
The proposal, which would increase the allowed population density in the PRC from 13 to 16, will be discussed Sept. 25.

RESTON, VA — A Reston Planned Residential Community (PRC) Zoning Ordinance Amendment that has stirred up some controversy with locals will be discussed at a public meeting next month at Lake Anne Elementary School, the county announced in a statement.
Fairfax County's Department of Planning and Zoning announced it would hold the fourth community meeting on the ordinance -- which would increase the allowed population density of a large chunk of Reston, thus allowing more development -- at 7 p.m. on Sept. 25 in the cafeteria of the school, which is located at 11510 North Shore Drive.
Specifically, the proposal would increase the limit on people per acre in the PRC District from 13 to 16, thus potentially boosting the population in this area by nearly 20,000. Currently, the density per acre is 11.9.
