Cross Country: Strong Showing for Seahawks
Boys team finishes fourth at Woodberry Forest Invitational.

South Lakes High School's cross country teams were among the top finishers at the Woodberry Forest Invitational over the weekend.
In a field of 46 teams, including five of the 15 top ranked in the state, the varsity boys team finished fourth.
Ashkan Mohammadi (12th), Michael McHugh (16th) and Andrew McCool (17th) each placed in the top 20 for the Seahawks. The varsity girls team finished in sixth place. Monica Lannen (18th) was the top South Lakes girls finisher.

Additionally, the JV boys finished sixth and the JV Girls were third, with Molly McGrath (sixth) and Haley Vaughn (15th) placing individually.

In other sports news, the girls golf team defeated Marshall 196-212 on Thursday. The Seahawks were led by senior Eugenia Witherow with a 39, and Paige Coatney qualified for the Northern Regional Tournament.
