Dominion Foundation gives $25,000 grant to local project
The Dominion Foundation gave $500,000 to 33 environmental initiatives in Va., including Fairfax County Park Foundation.
The Dominion Foundation contributed $25,000 to support the Fairfax County Park Foundation’s efforts to build the Chestnut Grove Connecter Trail #2 in the southwest portion of Lake Fairfax Park in Reston. The trail will provide much-needed access to the park’s hardwood forest by visitors from the Washington and Old Dominion Trail, adjoining residential communities, the National Wildlife Federation and Lifetime Athletics among other entities. It is estimated that hundreds of walkers, hikers and bikers from across Fairfax County and nearby counties will use the new trail on a daily basis. The project will include new interpretive and way-finding signs, a newly natural surface trail and a 40-foot fiberglass bridge.
The Dominion Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Dominion Resources, parent company of Dominion Virginia Power.
