Donald Trump vs. Hillary Clinton: 1,000 Absentee Votes Cast Already in Fairfax County
Residents in Reston and elsewhere are flocking to the polls early.

The general election is still more than a month away, but some absentee voters from Reston and the rest of Fairfax County are already casting their ballots. And the county has now already passed the 1,000-vote mark for absentee ballots after just three days of voting, according to a statement from the county.
Wednesday marked the 4th day of absentee balloting, and to cross the 1,000 vote mark is pretty big considering that after three days of voting in 2012, there were only 712 ballots cast. That's a pretty good indication that residents in Reston and the rest of Fairfax County are pretty hyped up about this election.
The statement also noted that the county was also seeing "heavy activity in voter registration," with many of them being re-registrations.

"More than half a million Fairfax County residents are expected to vote in the Nov. 8 election," according to another statement. "During the last two presidential elections, we had an 80 percent turnout in our county and we’re expecting a similar turnout this year. That’s a lot of people who will go through our 243 voter precincts during the 13 hours of voting, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. You may want to consider absentee voting, especially if you have a long commute, have a disability or illness, or you are a first responder."
