Dr. Tisseront's Halloween Candy Buy-Back! Record Breaking Year!
We wanted to share with you, the record breaking news from Dr. Tisseront's 12th Annual Halloween Candy Buy-Back!
RESTON, VA - Every year that pile of left over Halloween candy gets hauntingly larger, but Dr. Tisseront has perfected a way to recycle all those goodies while supporting Children’s Hospital Foundation and our troops overseas! With a record breaking 2,133 pounds gathered for 2017 and over $23,300 dollars donated to Children’s Hospital Foundation, Dr. Tisseront and his team continue to outdo themselves.
With the help from family, friends and neighbors, Dr. Tisseront has created a wonderful event that benefits the community members, Children’s Hospital Foundation and our troops overseas. For every pound of left over candy gathered, Dr. Tisseront will buy it back for $1 and donate $1 to Children’s Hospital Foundation. This resulted in Tisseront Orthodontics donating $2,981 this year! All collected candy is then shipped overseas to our troops with letters from the community in every box.
Hot Apple Cider, fun games and tattoos, plus raffles for prizes take place throughout the event keeping everyone entertained and in high spirits. Don’t forget the Letter Writing station to remind our troops of the support and love coming from back home!
After the event, the entire team rallies to prepare the boxes of candy, load the truck and send these goodies out! With almost one full ton of candy shipped overseas to our troops, the community could not help but be overjoyed. “I am so thrilled with the outcome from this year’s event and I can’t wait to see how we outshine ourselves in the years to come.” Dr. Tisseront stated after seeing the total tally for 2017.
A special thank you to Steve of the Arpin Group for delivering all candy to Operation Shoebox, Meadow Farms for the festive decorations and a few local businesses for their donations included in the raffles; Not Your Average Joe’s, Mayflower, Vapiano and Barcelona of Reston Town Center.
