RESTON, VA — A new environmental activist group has sprung up in Reston as part of a nationwide movement called 350, and they'll be holding a meeting Thursday night in advance of a march on Washington at the end of this month.

350 Fairfax describes itself as a non-profit grassroots movement in Fairfax County to "challenge systems that lead to catastrophic climate change."

The main 350 website states that the movement aims to "hold our leaders accountable to the realities of science and the principles of justice," with a global network that includes 188 countries. The name of the organization refers to the goal to reduce the CO2 levels in the atmosphere from more than 400 parts per million to below 350.
