Every second Friday of the month, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Reston(UUCR), in association with Songwriters Association of Washington (SAW) hosts an evening open mike / coffeehouse. From 8 to 9 PM musicians and poets will have their chance to perform in a relaxed, supportive and respectful environment. Please contact the poster / host (Doug Sedgwick) to book your slot in advance. Available slots (if any remain by that time) the evening of the coffeehouse will be doled out on a first come, first serve basis. At 9 PM, the evening's "featured performer" will play a 45 - 60 minute set. From 10 PM to close (which varies depending on attendance) either more open mike slots will be doled out - or group "jamming" will take place. The $5 cover charge entitles you to coffee, soda and assorted snacks while you listen.
The January featured performer is singer / songwriter Jason Frye. Details are attached.
