The next Reston Photographic Society meeting is on Monday March 19th at 7:30pm, at the Lake Anne RCC (1609 Washington Plaza North Reston, VA 20190), and features a presentation and demonstration on black-light photography by Scott Musson.
Scott Musson is a photographer, lecturer and frequently critiques, speaks and judges at photography organizations and clubs in the Northern Virginia and Washington DC metropolitan area. A Photographer of the Year for the Northern Virginia Photographic Society (NVPS), Scott has published a photo calendar with his wife, Emi for the past ten years.
The evening will start with a lecture describing the technique and the tools. Then Scott will demonstrate several techniques that he has used to create award winning photographs using Black Lights and ordinary items like a Slinky, followed by an opportunity to try some black light photography yourself. Black Light photography is low-light photography so remember to bring a tripod in addition to your camera with Macro or Close Focusing Lens.
