Fairfax County Approves New Reston Headquarters for General Dynamics

The massive defense contractor is relocating its headquarters from Falls Church to Reston.

RESTON, VA — The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors has granted approval to General Dynamics to move its headquarters from Falls Church to Reston.

The board approved a final development plan for the huge defense contractor at its Sept. 20 meeting. GD is one of the largest companies in the region, and plans to build a 190,000-square-foot building at 11011 Sunset Hills Road, which is located about a mile from the Wiehle-Reston East Metro station.

General Dynamics currently leases part of a 15-story building on Fairview Park in Falls Church, but the company wants its own private location for its headquarters.
